Carrier Global Corporation has announced plans to invest more than $600 million in a new advanced manufacturing and engineering facility in Fort Worth, Texas, expanding its US production capacity and creating 1,500 jobs.
The investment, announced on 22 October 2026, will be delivered over the next three years and forms part of Carrier’s strategy to strengthen its domestic manufacturing operations and respond to growing demand for advanced thermal management technologies.
The proposed facility will cover more than one million square feet and is expected to begin operations in 2027.
Expanding advanced manufacturing capacity
The new centre will increase Carrier’s production capacity for air-cooled and water-cooled commercial chillers, supporting customers across data centres, healthcare, education and industrial markets.
According to the company, increasing demand for high-performance heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems has contributed to record backlog levels within its commercial business.
The Fort Worth investment will allow Carrier to expand manufacturing capabilities while strengthening its US supply-chain network.
David Gitlin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carrier, said the investment reflects growing demand for energy-efficient technologies and the company’s confidence in American manufacturing.
The expansion is also intended to improve production capacity for critical thermal management systems used across energy-intensive industries.
Creating skilled manufacturing jobs
The development is expected to create approximately 1,500 positions across manufacturing, engineering and associated operations.
Alongside production facilities, the site will incorporate advanced engineering laboratories and dedicated workforce development initiatives.
Carrier plans to collaborate with local schools and colleges to support technical education and help develop the skills required for future manufacturing and engineering roles.
Fort Worth was selected for its established manufacturing base, skilled workforce and strategic location.
Supporting long-term industrial growth
The new facility will form part of Carrier’s wider efforts to expand its American manufacturing footprint and improve supply-chain resilience.
The company also intends to pursue LEED certification for the development, aligning the project with its wider sustainability objectives.
With operations scheduled to begin in 2027, the investment will support Carrier’s growing commercial HVAC business while adding significant manufacturing and engineering capacity in Texas.
The announcement reflects continued investment in industrial production capabilities as demand increases for cooling and thermal management systems across data centres and other critical infrastructure sectors.
